Access Statement
Introduction
We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors to our home. The following is a summary of our provision. We offer two bedrooms on the first floor. We will do our best to answer any specific questions you have and invite you to phone or contact us by email.
Pre-Arrival
There is a train station about 15 minutes walk away, half the distance being up an incline to our house. There are bus stops between High Wycombe and Reading about 10 minutes walk away. We are happy to collect or deliver you to or from the bus stop in Marlow, the bus station or train station at High Wycombe or the train station at Maidenhead, or we can provide taxi numbers.
Heathrow Airport is approximately 40 minutes away. We may be able to arrange collection/delivery at a charge dependent on time of day and length of wait, or we can provide taxi numbers.
Our home would be suitable for guests with minor mobility impairment, or visual or hearing impairment who are accompanied.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
Our driveway is concrete on a slight slope in a quiet road.
We display our EnjoyEngland sign and an Oak Tree B&B sign, as well as our house number (76) on the front walls either side of the main door.
There is parking off-road for one small car and space for street parking outside the house.
A security light will illuminate access at night.
We can assist with luggage on your arrival and departure.
Main Entrance
We have one entrance at the main door accessed via a small step of 3 cm to the porch and a step of 12 cm into the hallway.
The hallway has wood flooring and measures 1.74m x 1.8m, opening to a walkway measuring 2.4m x 89cm.
Registration is in the sitting room on the ground floor.
Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing
Access to the first floor bedrooms is well lit via a flight of 15 steps with a banister and handrail.
The stairs and landing are carpeted.
Each bedroom is carpeted and has its own hand basin.
Bedrooms & Sleeping Areas
The double room is at the back of the house, overlooking the rear garden.
The twin room is at the front of the house, overlooking a view to the west of Marlow.
Each room has a:
- Hand basin
- TV/DVD (selection of DVDs)
- Radio/alarm clock
- Small combination lock safe
- Desk/dressing table and chair suitable for a laptop
- Wifi access
- Thick pile carpet.
There is limited opportunity to rearrange either bedroom.
Bathroom & WC
- The shared bathroom is next to the double room and is for the sole use of guests during their stay.
- The shower is above the bath.
- The flooring is linoleum.
- It is at the rear of the house, next to the double room and five metres from the twin room.
Dining Room
- Breakfast is served in the dining room and is accessed via the carpeted sitting room, off the hallway on the ground floor.
- The dining room faces east so benefits from any early morning sun. In the winter months we like to enhance a feeling of warmth with side lighting.
Laundry
- Should you wish to use the washing machine or drier, please ask us.
Shop
- There is a newsagent with post office and an all purpose grocery shop within 100 metres of our house.
Outdoor Facilities
- Breakfast can be served in the garden, which can be accessed through the patio doors from the dining room. There is a 4cm step over the threshold.
- The garden is a blaze of colour in the summer and our guests are welcome to make use of this facility.
Additional Information
- The house is non-smoking, but you may use the garden which is accessed via the dining room.
- WiFi access is provided.
- There is good mobile phone reception.
- In the event of an emergency exits are via a flat roof outside the back bedroom, the main front door, patio doors from the dining room and a back door from a short passage accessed from the kitchen.
- Electrically circuited smoke alarms are fitted throughout the house.
- The house is fully compliant with the latest electrical regulations.
Hours of Operation
Our operating hours are flexible, particularly at the weekends with weddings and parties in mind.
We like you to have your keys as early as possible so you can feel free to come and go as you please.
We do ask you to clear your room by 10am unless other arrangements have been made.
